Offering insight into how the world’s largest soft drinks company plans to weather the storm, the session promises strategic guidance and practical advice relevant to all industry players.
Other speakers at this year’s event include:
A session on innovation will bring together four new concepts and fast-growing producers – RDA Organic, For Goodness Shakes, Energy Beverages Worldwide and The Juice Brewery. In addition, there will be a debate about health and nutrition labelling with representatives from the European Food Information Council, Food and Drink Federation and Food Standards Agency.
The day will close with a presentation from Chris Dow, MD of Closed Loop Recycling, followed by an opportunity for delegates to visit the company’s plant in east London.
The new site is the UK’s first food-grade recycling plant and processes 35,000 tonnes per year of mixed plastic bottle waste, which would otherwise be exported for recycling or sent to landfill.
The UK Soft Drinks Industry Conference is organised by industry experts at Zenith International and is sponsored this year by leading bottling line supplier, Sidel.
Zenith International chairman, Richard Hall, said: “We’re especially delighted that delegates will be able to visit such a pioneering plant, which is already helping UK producers reduce their environmental impact. For example, Coca-Cola Enterprises has access to around a quarter of the plant’s recycled PET, one of a number of measures that will enable it to reach its target of an average 25% recycled PET content across its European operations by the end of 2010.
