The dry mix manufacturing facility was built by Krispy Kreme in 2001 and sold to Harlan Bakeries, a family-owned company, in 2008. This facility can manufacture up to 225 million pounds of dry mixes, and increases the company’s manufacturing footprint, which includes facilities in Kent, WA, Hopkinsville, KY and Manhattan, KS.
“The purchase of this facility expands our manufacturing capacity in the east and supports our long-term growth strategy,” said John Heily, president and CEO of Continental Mills. “We are very excited to integrate the facility and employees into our organisation.”
Continental Mills will continue to work in partnership with Harlan Bakeries to supply industrial bakery mixes to various Harlan customers.
