Beginning in 2013, vending machines in municipal buildings in Chicago and San Antonio (US) will display clear calorie information and a vending snipe reminding consumers that ‘calories count’ in all the choices they make.
The new Calories Count Vending Programme extends a previous industry initiative which placed calorie labels on the front of every bottle, can and pack. The new vending programme will be available to customers nationwide following the launch.
Jim Johnston, president of Beverage Concentrates, said: “At Dr Pepper Snapple Group, we are committed to giving consumers the flavours they love with fewer calories. Clearer labeling on our vending machines and a greater selection of low-calorie beverages inside will help consumers make the choice that is best for them.”
