While there, I photographed FoodBev Media magazines managing editor Claire Phoenix’s presentation on the key trends in the beverage industry over the past few years, Rexam Group marketing editor Ollie Graham’s discussion on the importance of beverage packaging and Wild Flavors managing director Markus Lotsch’s talk on how to select the correct beverage ingredients for a successful product.
I also managed to severely test FoodBev Media’s video camera battery life with my liberal documenting of the session’s closing table discussion and Q&A session, which was hosted by FoodBev Media and Zenith International chairman Richard Hall.
FoodBev’s Beverage Innovation session attracted over 140 visitors and gave attendees the chance to try out a variety of innovative new beverages, courtesy of the Innovation Flow Lounge’s complimentary bar.
After confidently spilling 10 metric tonnes of pasta sauce on my white FoodBev T-shirt at lunchtime, I set about preparing for more video recording duties at the Beverage Innovation Awards.
The show went off without a hitch and a lot of worthy winners took to the stage in hall A2 to collect their trophies. FoodBev’s Beverage Innovation Awards saw over 370 entries from 40 different countries, in 29 categories, and almost 400 people attended the event.
It was a brilliant night of celebrating creativity in the beverage industry and FoodBev Media’s Bill Bruce and Ruth McMenamin did a great job hosting the ceremony.
Tomorrow is the final day of Drinktec 2013 but if it’s anything like the previous three, it should be a corker!
