Florida, US-based Eagle Product Inspection has launched five innovations for manufacturers in the meat, food and beverage industries at Pack Expo International 2014, which is held in Chicago.
The new product inspection solutions released at the show are designed to guarantee product quality and safety, as well as optimise manufacturing efficiency.
Eagle Product Inspection’s new technology includes the Eagle FA3/C, an inline fat measurement product which analyses 100% of product throughput and accurately measures lean and fat values of raw meat such as beef, pork or lamb contained in sealed cartons, vacuum sealed packs or open crates. This machine even provides protein and moisture calculations.
Also new in Eagle’s portfolio is Upshot compact x-ray imaging geometry, which is integrated within the Eagle FA3/C and provides contaminant detection and weight measurement services, while delivering the smallest factory footprint in the industry. To accommodate different inspection requirements, Product Switch, Eagle’s product changeover creation, eliminates the need to manually switch products, which increases system uptime.
Eagle’s new RMI3/B provides x-ray inspection for unpackaged bulk meat products and the RMI3/C version of this machine is built for packaged products including cartons, vacuum sealed packs and open crates. Eagle Easy MAT software simplifies and speeds up installation and setup by auto-learning the material composition of products.
Kyle Thomas, strategic business unit (SBU) manager, Eagle Product Inspection said: “To help all manufacturers meet food safety standards and guarantee product quality, we have designed a number of technologies for specific product and packaging requirements. Manufacturers now producing products in rigid to metal packaging can be assured that even the smallest physical contaminants are detected. Plus, meat producers can be confident that their products contain the correct lean content and are contaminant-free.”
