Eden Springs has released a new fully compostable and biodegradable plant-based water cup, which can be used with both cold and hot beverages.
The new Eden Bio cup is available with a 205ml capacity and features a plant-based inner biopolymer lining, which ensures the cup is firmly sealed and insulated.
Manufactured using 100% renewable materials, the BIO cup is certified to break down in under 12 weeks in industrial composting conditions, and the BIO cup can also be used multiple times before it is disposed of. Eden Springs claims this will help to eliminate the excessive waste created by single-use paper cups.
The Seedling logo, featured on the BIO cup, proves that it is certified to be industrially compostable according to the European standard EN 13432, and that it will fully biodegrade in an industrial composting plant under controlled conditions such as temperature, moisture and time frame – leaving nothing behind but water, biomass and CO2.
Brian Macpherson, managing director at Eden Springs UK said: “We are committed to environmental care in every part of our business, therefore we are thrilled to be introducing the new BIO cup to our existing range of eco-friendly beverage solutions.
“By introducing a cup that is not only biodegradable, but also reusable, we hope that consumers will think twice before disposing of their paper cups after just one use and the environmental impact caused by single use cups will reduce.”
