The System Plast website includes drawings of more than 16,000 conveyor parts and products from the company’s European catalog, which are directly downloadable in STP and DWG formats, saving time and eliminating the need for special drawing requests.
“We have a strong history of close customer collaboration, especially for rapid response opportunities,” said Ted van der Hoeven, director of engineering, System Plast. “These downloadable CAD files allow customers to directly import 3D files into their engineering drawings, saving them time and expediting their projects.”
Online access to the 3D drawings is System Plast’s latest technology-based service designed to help customers make purchasing decisions that improve operations. The company also offers a free mobile app that calculates cost reductions from various choices of motors, drives and flat-top conveyor chains, as well as a quick changeover guide rails and the elimination of water/soap lubrication.
The app and drawing downloads have been well received, according to Van der Hoeven: “Downloads of the app are increasing every month, and since the complete set of 3D drawings went online earlier this year, we’ve already seen a large number of customers accessing the site. So, the need is there and we’re glad to give customers these tools.”
