Spanish packaging company Emsur opens its first US production facility, in response to increased demand for yogurts and desserts outside Europe.
Emsur has opened its first US production facility after seeing a growing demand for its yogurts and desserts outside of Europe. The Madrid, Spain-based company, whose clients include Danone, Campina, Henkel and Kraft Foods bought a 77,000-square-foot plant in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, US, in December 2013 and will commence operations in January 2015. An Emsur statement said the company chose the location due to its proximity to O’Hare International Airport.
Emsur has been in the food packaging industry for about 75 years, operates flagship flexible packaging plants in five countries, and conducts business in 40 countries.
