The company presented a new process to produce a powerful and cost effective Madagascan Vanilla Extract. This is particularly attractive as vanilla pods have doubled in price over the last year.
Also with cost in mind, they talked about Nootkatone 10%, which is produced during citrus oil processing and is a key ingredient in the creation of grapefruit and citrus flavours. By eliminating a manufacturing process, it offers a highly cost effective alternative for flavour manufacturers.
Flavour creators were shown EPCevia, the new generation Stevia, which is a natural high intensity sweetener that mimics the taste profile of sugar and so provides a great opportunity for manufacturers to reduce sugar content with minimum taste alteration.
CEO and co-founder of Omega Ingredients Steve Pearce said: “As a specialist natural flavours and ingredients company, we are always keen to connect with expert flavour creators from around the world. We inspire and learn from each other.”
