Flavour and fragrance manufacturer Sensient Flavors has developed four new product ranges that it claimed would support drinks manufacturers in the creation of “mood balancing” products.
The four new lines are relaxing green, featuring gooseberry and hops; uplifting yellow, with sea buckthorn and ripe apricot; calming blue, which combines blueberry with hop extract; and energising red, with an invigorating mix of redcurrant, strawberry and ginger.
As “the emotional influence of foods and drinks” becomes increasingly important, the company claimed that its new products could “be adjusted individually to create bespoke products with additional functional ingredients”, “deliver a range of harmonious colour-flavour combinations” and help to meet beverage manufacturers’ requirements “as they strive to create successful ‘emotion drinks’”.
Hans-Jürgen Sachs, general manager of Sensient Flavors Beverage Europe, said: “In our stressful lives, the need for mood balancing food and drinks has steadily increased, to calm us down or to give us an emotional boost. Especially the tea sector currently demonstrates the potential this ‘mood market’ offers. With our holistic concepts for mood drinks, we can help customers to capitalise on this exciting opportunity for versatile beverages.”
