French flavours and fragrances company Mane has partnered with Sri Lanka’s Akbar Brothers to provide tea and coffee extracts.
A new joint venture called Ethical Extracts will produce all-natural Ceylon tea extracts while also focusing on speciality coffee.
Mane said that with Akbar’s supply chain capabilities and its own manufacturing facility equipped with technologies for aqueous extraction, Ethical Extracts is “uniquely positioned” to provide high-quality concentrates and aromas to the beverage, food and cosmetic sectors globally.
The Mane strategic development centre in Singapore, in coordination with the company’s other facilities, will work in partnership with customers globally as it aims to create groundbreaking new beverages.
Mane president and CEO Jean Mane said: “This partnership creates a unique positioning in the beverage segment with an ability to create even single origin/single estate portfolio of tastes and aromas with 100% traceability and sustainability.
“With access to the world’s best teas and most modern extraction technology at source, combined with Mane’s 150 years of expertise in creating world-class food and beverage solutions, this partnership shall foster development of new and innovative natural beverage ingredients that could herald an exciting chapter as much for the customers as for both Akbar and Mane.”
