A British coffee shop supplier will start distributing the portfolio of French coffee brand Cafés Richard to the UK’s hospitality trade this month.
The products of Cafés Richard – including Perle Noir and Rouge Richard coffees – are already extremely popular in France and two and a half million cups of its coffees are sold worldwide each day.
Kent-based Udal Supplies will now start distributing the ranges to British cafés, restaurants, hotels and pubs as it seeks to replicate the products’ success in other markets. It will be the only French coffee offering available in the UK market. The company will offer the range on an exclusive basis in a variety of size formats, from 1kg cartons of whole beans to 250g and 500g ground packs and pods.
Udal Supplies managing director Danny Watson said: “Cafés Richard is the leading coffee brand in France, due in part to its passion for excellence and continued desire to improve and evolve over many decades. We know there is a market here for French coffee; there are 400,000 French citizens currently living in London alone and a host of French cafés and restaurants across the country, all currently serving Italian coffee. It’s time to show the UK that Cafés Richard is on a level with the great wine and delicious cuisine for which France is famous.”
