The AGM in Düsseldorf was well attended. The meeting heard that both bottled water coolers and mains-fed coolers were in demand, largely due to press coverage related to health, fitness, vitality and water coolers being regarded as a perfect tool to fight obesity.
The AGM supported the initiative to ensure all schools and kindergartens in Germany benefit from hydration via water coolers and was pleased with the support received from the Children Commission at governmental level, confirming the necessity to provide all schools with water coolers free of charge to students.
The AGM also accepted the final changes in the by-laws, meaning that the next board meeting would be held under the title of GWCA (German Water Cooler Association) rather than GBWA (German Bottled Watercooler Association), therefore representing the interests of the entire water cooler industry in Germany.
