This year’s judging panel comprised a host of experienced and enthusiastic industry experts who laboured through a very long list of shortlisted entries. I’d like to extend a special thank you to them for taking part in this year’s awards, for offering their time and for being patient when the late entries were coming in!
We had to turn away a couple of good entries again this year, which is always hard. We had extended the deadline to the very tightest of schedules, bearing in mind all of the preparation we had to do to make sure the judges had all of the materials to hand and that everything was in place for the upcoming showcase magazine and announcement video. It’s a massive undertaking because we receive so many entries, but I’m sure that the latecomers understood and are already getting stuff prepared for next year’s awards scheme.
Of those entrants that got everything in on time, thanks for making it difficult for us to judge! There were lots of strong, exciting products to look at, including new food and drink brands, redesigns and agency portfolios. The energy drinks and chocolate some of you kindly sent us came in very handy (though I stuck to coffee and biscuits).
Joanna Shilton and Becky Tuffnell worked hard to make sure things went smoothly, processing entries, art working, proofing and collating the hundreds of images we received through our inbox and Dropbox. I’d also like to thank Sarah Pyatt, Lynn Whiteman and Rebecca Prescott, but the larger FoodBev Media team played its part in making this a fantastic second FoodBev.com Awards.
To everyone involved, thanks again and happy Christmas! I’ll see you all online this Wednesday when we reveal the winners and finalists video. Were you a winner?
