Consequently, both Pink Pigeon rum and King’s Ginger liqueur will exit the Global Brands drinks portfolio effective 31 March.
Having worked with BBR since 2010, Global Brands has enjoyed success with Kings Ginger, having gained distribution into the London (UK) free on-trade including national accounts such as M&B and Waitrose.
Global Brands has also achieved its objective of gaining distribution for Pink Pigeon through on and off-trade accounts across London. However, with the business seeking to focus on brands with significant growth potential, the decision has been made to pass both brands back to Berry Bros & Rudd.
Simon Green, MD for Global Brands, said: “We have reached the right point to conclude our brand work with Berry Bros & Rudd having completed the launch work and development activity for both Pink Pigeon and King’s Ginger. Whilst we have clearly established both brands in the market, our development strategy is more about scale and focussing on brands with potential for significant growth and as such, we have decided to end both agency agreements.”
