The company, which was established in 2004 and currently employs 85 people, has head offices based in Edenbridge, Kent, and works with businesses nationwide to help them act to reduce their impact on the environment.
The firm has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK, after achieving a high ranking in the Sunday Times 100 best small companies to work for 2011. Greenworks enables organisations to filter, chill and dispense tap water through mains-fed water coolers.
The charitable arm of the business, The Greencare Foundation, funds sustainable water and sanitation projects, such as drilling boreholes and renewing wells, in the town of Kwahu-Tafo in Ghana.
Sunday Times Best Companies is an award scheme that acknowledges excellence in the workplace and is based on employee feedback.
Greenworks was named 42nd best small company overall, coming in higher than drinks producer innocent. The firm was also marked highly across the board, taking 5th place in the survey for staff feeling their company makes a difference to the world. Greenworks additionally secured first place, with a 95% score, for how much employees feel it does to protect the environment.
