Chickpea puff brand Hippeas has unveiled a new packaging refresh as it gains two supermarket listings in the UK.
The bold yellow packets have been given an updated look, with the chickpea puff clearly communicated on the front of the pack as well as bright colour strips to highlight the different flavours and provide more on stand out on shelf.
As of 1 September, Tesco and Asda stores will stock both the sweet and smokin’ and the cheese and love variants of the snack. The product is also available in far out fajita and in herbs we trust flavours.
Launched in the UK in August 2016, Hippeas is branded as a lighter alternative to crisps, ‘bringing a premium but affordable’ addition to the snack sector.
In a move set to help the brand continue its growth trajectory, Hippeas announced in May an investment from Strand Equity Partners, a leading US growth equity fund founded by Seth Rodsky and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Hippeas UK and Europe managing director Craig Hughes said: “The launch into Tesco and Asda is a big win for Hippeas. Supported with our new-look packaging, which puts the puff front and centre on shelf, we look forward to even more consumers giving peas a chance over the coming months.”
The chickpea puffs are available in 22g packs for £0.99 or in 78g sharing bags for £1.99.
