The Varioline packaging system is an ultra-flexible packaging concept, enabling a multi-stage packaging process. As a result, depending on the configuration selected, primary, secondary and even tertiary packages can be created.
Krones’ concept permits loose containers to be handled – such as glass bottles, PET containers, cans in multipacks, multipacks in plastic crates, folding boxes and wrap-around cartons. Depending on the combination involved and the number of modules installed, this means that many different end-of-the-line packages can be created on a single packaging system.
To suit the handling programme concerned, individual modules are used for particular tasks. The Varioline is configured for an output of 52,000 containers per hour, based on packages of 3×2 multipacks.
The Varioline also offers flexibility for the future; new packaging solutions are simple to implement using new tools. A future expansion of the machine will not affect its handling of the existing formats.
Depending on the layout involved, space savings of around 60 to 100 square metres can also be achieved compared to a conventional packaging line. Varioline even enables packaging costs to be cut, because clients have a free choice of carton vendor and are not reliant on any particular supplier.
