Lithuanian cheese brand Džiugas has launched a new range of four gourmet grated cheese mixes for a range of different dishes.
The new grated cheese packs deliver a texture and melt rate to suit each of four different styles of food; the varieties consist of Džiugas Mix Cheese for pizza, pasta, salads and bakes. The products are packaged in 250g resealable bags for freshness and convenience, offering an excellent source of protein and energy and being suitable for vegetarians.
The brand’s pizza mix has been selected for its maturity and complementary flavour; the salad mix has enough bite to add texture while still boasting a balance of savoury creaminess; the pasta mix has been blended to add a creamy, aromatic touch to dishes such as lasagne or fondue; and finally the bakes mix cheese is rich and smooth for use in sauces, or to top off a soup or panini.
Džiugas is owned by the Lithuanian milk processing company Žemaitijos Pienas, which also operates a number of cheese, yogurt and sour cream brands.
Earlier this month, the company received approval to export Džiugas products to the growing Brazilian market as it continued its efforts to expand the brand’s global presence. Dr. Jonas Milius, director of Lithuania’s State Food and Veterinary Service, said at the time: “I am glad that over 200m people in the Brazilian market are increasingly open to Lithuanian foods.”
