The first of five amazing challenges will see one lucky winner and their three mates take to their feet and sand-board in Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, one of Africa’s most remote and beautiful locations (home to some of the largest sand dunes on the planet).
Expert guidance will be on-hand from a world-class instructor who will provide the necessary training skills to complete this exciting challenge. To enter, visit the Lucozade Energy Challenge website, enter the challenge and invite three friends to share the experience.
The winners of the first challenge will set out on 4 July 2009, and will follow an adventure-packed itinerary in their quest to conquer the world’s largest sand dune.
The group jet off to Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Once unpacked and settled, the group will travel to Swakopmund, the adventure capital of Namibia, where they’ll get stuck into some sand-boarding on the challenging dunes, under the expert guidance of a world-class instructor.
Today’s adventure includes a full-day 4×4 dune adventure to Sandwich Harbour, part of the Namib Naukluft Park, where giant sand dunes run straight into the ocean. There will be plenty of ‘dune bashing’ as their 4×4 take the group across masses of dune-filled landscape.
Travel by air over the magical scenery of Namibia to Desert Rhino Camp, home to the largest free-ranging population of Black Rhino.
An early morning start to the beautiful region of the Hartmann Valley, where the group will stay for the next two days at one of the most remote camps in Africa. Here, the group will sand-board some of the largest dunes in the world, building up to tackle one of the largest dunes as the ‘pinnacle’ of the challenge. The group will then head home as sand-boarding pros, complete with amazing memories and a story or two to tell.
You can keep up to date with the winners’ adventure by tracking their journey on the website, and you can visit the Lucozade Facebook page, where there will be regular updates, photos and videos on their experience.
The first challenge closes at midnight on 25 June. The winners will also be announced on the Lucozade site and Facebook page on 30 June, before jetting off to Namibia on the Saturday.
The next challenge will open for entries the Friday after the challenge closes.
