The former innovation uses carbon filters, reverse osmosis (RO) and ultrafiltration (UF) systems to improve water hygiene for the beverage industry, and the latter product prevents the growth of problematic microorganisms often associated with processes such as RO and UF.
After swotting up on the latest happenings in the water treatment sector and consuming nearly half my bodyweight in cheese kebabs at Veolia’s aggressively tasty snack bar, I headed to hall A5 and took a closer look at AmbaFlex’s new AVH AccuVeyor accumulator machine.
This innovative new design for single-file snack and beverage items is patent pending and moves its products without the use of clamps, unlike other accumulators that rely on such devices. Released as a concept at this year’s Drinktec fair, AmbaFlex is stating that the new machine will be introduced to the market in 2014.
Liquid nitrogen transfer system specialist VBC was also in hall A5 displaying its latest range of liquid nitrogen injection systems, which deliver precise amounts of liquid nitrogen into non-carbonated beverages to increase bottle rigidity and displace oxygen to extend shelf life.
VBC’s latest range includes systems such as the Nitrodose G2 PRO and the Easydose G2 Plus – products that are are capable of delivering low pressure liquid nitrogen at line speeds up to 2,000 BPM.
I finished my day by attending the European Beer Star Awards, where US-based Firestone Walker Brewery nabbed the gold medal in the Consumer’s Favourite Brewery category. With plenty of guests, live entertainment and over 1,000 beers available to sample, it was a great way to end my second taste of Drinktec’s 2013 trade fair.
