Unilever’s leading ice cream brand Magnum has announced the addition of a new caramel variety to its in-home core range.
Available from all retailers across the UK from this month, Magnum caramel “features velvety vanilla ice cream with a sea salt caramel swirl and is covered in cracking Magnum milk chocolate and launches to tap into a consumer trend for caramel,” the brand said. It will retail for £3.35 for a pack of four.
Its introduction will be accompanied by a change in pack format across the Magnum core portfolio – from three units per pack to four – which the brand has said will “drive penetration by making the Magnum core range a dessert option to share with friends”.
Nicola Rolfe, brand manager for Magnum for Unilever UK, said: “Our core range continues to grow in popularity, up by 14% in value sales in the last 12 months. The new caramel variant promises the same taste credentials as the rest of our range, appealing to existing Magnum fans who want to try a new product, while attracting incremental consumers through a tried and tested flavour profile.”
