Bakery brand Merangz has been awarded the best food product award at this year’s Caffé Culture for its Merangz pistachio bite.
The brand fought off competition from hundreds of entrants at the café and coffee trade show at London’s Olympia this week. The pistachio bite is a fresh vanilla meringue finished with sprinklings of pistachio nuts, which can be used as a versatile dessert option by retail and foodservice operators.
Merangz co-founder Brian Crowther said: “This truly is the icing on the Merangz for us. We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award – and delighted that the judges recognised not just the fact that it tastes great, but also its versatility too!”
Category judge Maria Bracken added: “The Merangz product is very unique. I love its versatility. Whether you enjoy it as an add-on to a cup of coffee, or a dessert option filling the nests with cream – or in fact whatever you like – the bite sized treats have it all. It’s a fun, innovative and extremely delicious product. I can see these going down a storm in coffee shops.”
