Meurens Natural has presented a new range of syrups and hydrolysed flour made of oat.
The original and natural ingredients enable various functionalities, Meurens Natural said, including as a sweetener or sugar substitute, glucose syrup substitute, natural colouring, cereal flavouring, crispiness enhance, protein enricher and viscosity reduction ingredient.
The oat extract offers cleaner, more natural labelling to products containing sugar or glucose too, the company said.
It is suited to use in biscuits, cereal bars, breakfast cereals, dairy products, smoothies and baby food products.
Belgium-based Meurens Natural also produces, as part of its Natu range, syrups made of rice, dates, figs and prunes; date purée and cereal puree; and a broad variety of tailor-made ingredients from cereals and dried fruits.
