Coffee company Pelican Rouge has agreed to acquire the operations of vending services provider Maas International in Belgium, Luxembourg, the UK and Ireland.
Agreed for an undisclosed sum, the acquisition “allows Pelican Rouge to further strengthen its market positions in these countries whilst Maas International will be able to focus on its core markets” – particularly Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands – Pelican Rouge said. The deal will be completed by the end of March, and Maas’ operations could be integrated within Pelican Rouge’s business by the end of the year.
The Netherlands-based firm operates its own brand in 12 European countries and boasts an international distribution network serving more than 150,000 customers.
Pelican Rouge CEO Alain Beyens said: ”We are excited with this acquisition which allows us to continue to grow and be able to provide more customers with our premium coffee. Additionally this will contribute to deliver on our strategy to reinforce our credentials as a Coffee Roaster with multiple distribution channels.”
