Its facility in Grand Falls will shut down one production line on Sunday and the other on 1 July, according to Canadian press.
Calla Farn, vice-president of public relations for McCain Foods, said bad weather in the spring caused a shortage of potatoes, leading to the temporary shutdown.
About 120 workers will be affected, though about 30 of them will be transferred to other areas.
