Premium snack brand Manomasa has secured a national listing with retailer Waitrose that will see four of its tortilla chip products stocked in UK stores.
Manomasa sea salt and cracked black pepper, chipotle and lime, manchego and green olive, and tomatillo salsa varieties will be available from outlets of Waitrose from this month. They are already stocked by Ocado, Fortnum & Mason, Whole Foods and some independent delicatessens.
“The partnership is central to the company’s growth strategy and key to capturing a bigger share of the UK’s premium snacking category,” the company said.
It claimed that two-thirds of adults who consume snack products did so at least once per day, with almost 30% consuming two or more snack products a day. “This demonstrates how popular snacking is, but also the challenge for Manomasa to grow penetration further,” it added.
“The new listing with Waitrose is a great start, as it will enable the brand to grow its customer base and expand revenues in 2015.”
Manomasa founder Calum Ryder said: “We’re really excited to be launching into Waitrose stores as we believe that the Waitrose shopper will appreciate the passion that goes into creating every variety within the Manomasa range. The chips are all unique in flavour, texture and shape, and every ingredient is chosen with the utmost care and attention to ensure we continue to deliver innovative and adventurously flavoured varieties to meet consumer demand.”
