New scientific analytical methods are now available to measure the quality of food proteins in a nutritional context.
Findings indicate that the quality of dairy proteins is higher, compared to results obtained with previous measures.
The proposed session would present advances in analytical methods for protein quality assessment and discuss potential implications to the dairy industry, and the significance of those findings, for those who programme food assistance or design therapeutic nutrition policies and guidelines.
The session will also highlight the latest research advances in developing countries, which documents the efficacy of dairy proteins for health outcomes of children under two, pregnant and lactating women, and people living with HIV.
