Sara Gamay: DreamPak was launched in 2000 with the idea of dreaming up unique liquid concentrate technology in innovative packaging. We dream it and pack it.
The company manufactures innovative beverage products for hot and cold applications, including all-natural water enhancers (sugar-free), functional beverages, coffee, tea, lattes and milk modifiers in portable multi-serve bottles. All products are available under DreamPak’s label or private label (own label).
We pride ourselves on offering a one-stop beverage innovation shop; we develop custom formulations or match customer profiles with our in-house R&D team, develop innovative liquid concentrate technology, and manufacture end products under our label, national brands and private label.
Sara Gamay: DreamPak’s founder and CEO Dr Aly Gamay (pHD Food Science and Nutrition), is the creative and entrepreneurial force behind our competitive edge in R&D and technology. He has founded three successful companies that continue to serve the food and beverage industry, and holds numerous US patents. Most recently, he developed a great-tasting Arabica coffee concentrate in the portable multi-serve bottle format that was introduced in the US market in 2010. To do this, he had to overcome a major technological challenge: how could we develop a coffee concentrate that’s shelf-stable for 12 months and tastes great? Dr Gamay and the team figured out the answer and patented the process and composition for producing great-tasting, shelf-stable liquid coffee.
We have been told by the world’s premiere coffee experts and branded companies that they have not seen or tasted a shelf-stable liquid coffee as good as ours.
Sara Gamay: In the growing liquid water enhancer category (around $300m market), DreamPak manufactures liquid water enhancers under US brands such as Crush and Hawaiian Punch, which are sold at most major retailers and supermarkets.
Sara Gamay: We believe that the multi-serve bottle format, introduced in the US market in 2010, with its emphasis on convenience, personalisation and smarter packaging is the future format for cold and hot beverages.
Dr Gamay, a huge coffee lover, started imagining how perfect it would be to carry 25 cups of great-tasting Arabica coffee in his pocket in a multi-serve bottle so he could have a perfect cup of coffee wherever he went simply by adding hot water.
DreamPak offers a line of premium Arabia concentrate in a variety of roasts and flavours, including Colombian, hazelnut and vanilla and also 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 Lattes. We are launching this first-of-its-kind line under our Top Roast brand of Premium Arabica Concentrate at US supermarkets next year. This coffee product was a finalist in this year’s Beverage Innovation Awards @drinktec.
The same story goes for our tea concentrate line: Why do we need those drippy tea bags anyway? DreamPak developed a great-tasting, patent pending real tea concentrate in multi-serve bottles in black, herbal and earl grey (sweetened or unsweetened).
Sara Gamay: The bottles are HDPE, but we do not manufacture them. We fill them at our 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Wisconsin, US.
Sara Gamay: We currently manufacture and sell to companies distributing in the US market. We see huge potential for our hot and cold beverage concentrates in the UK and European markets and are keen to work with the right partners to bring beverage innovations internationally.
We have been speaking to quite a few UK-based companies and developed formulations more suited to the European taste profile, including concentrates with natural flavours and colours and stevia-based products using our unique all-natural technology.
Sara Gamay: DreamPak has around 60 employees located at our R&D facility in Alexandria, Virginia and our manufacturing facility. In five years, we see DreamPak as an international beverage manufacturer and innovator.
