French savoury ingredients producer Solina has closed its acquisition of Netherlands-based Food Compounds, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.
Food Compounds is known for its coating systems and uses patented technology to provide “value-added solutions” to potato processing businesses. Headquartered in Oosterhout, the company has a factory with a dedicated line for the production of allergen-free products.
Solina’s CEO, Anthony Francheterre, said: “With the acquisition of Food Compounds, we continue the development of our coating expertise within Solina, which is a pillar for our future strategic growth. Following the acquisition of Bowman in 2020, Solina keeps on investing in world-class food coating companies.”
Solina’s central Europe managing director, Geert Verhelst, added: “Beyond a strong cultural fit, Solina and Food Compounds are complementary in terms of customer base and solutions portfolio. Solina brings expertise in seasonings, plant-based solutions, functional mixes and sauces, and [Food Compounds] brings added-value coating systems for veggie and potato products.”
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
