Spain-based Grupo Apex has expanded its snacks portfolio with the purchase of the assets of Productos Emilio Arias Lizano for an undisclosed sum.
Headquartered in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), Productos Emilio Arias Lizano manufactures a wide range of nuts and seeds, including sunflower seeds, peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds and others. Grupo Apex refers to Productos Emilio Arias Lizano as a “benchmark brand” in the production of nuts.
The acquisition is part of Grupo Apex’s growth strategy, which has also included a number of other purchases in the last decade.
This year, the company has also announced a more than €6 million investment in its factories. Grupo Apex’s general director, Santiago Sala, said that the group has eight work centres and more than 450 employees in Spain.
