Packaging manufacturer Starlinger has opened the new headquarters of its recycling technology division in Austria.
Located in Weissenbach, the facility takes over recycling operations from Starlinger’s Vienna head office as well as its existing factory in Weissenbach.
Construction started last year and workers began being transferred to the new facility this summer.
Around 150 guests from 34 countries recently attended a series of visitor days at the new site, which included live demonstrations.
Starlinger head of recycling technology Andreas Pechhacker pointed out parallels between machine setup and the new building design: lighting, fire protection, temperature control, and the alarm system are integrated into a PLC control unit. Moreover, the building is heated with 100 % renewable energy.
Managing partner Angelika Huemer emphasised that recycling technology is an integral part of the company: “We are committed to the future of recycling at Starlinger. Recycling is here to stay.”
For more than 30 years Starlinger recycling technology has been providing machinery solutions for the recycling and refining of a wide range of plastics.
Starlinger PET recycling systems produce food-safe rPET and are approved for use in food applications by many brands as well as various national and international authorities.
