Tetra Pak has launched a new automated pasteuriser that offers flexible processing capability by switching between hot- and ambient-filled products
Tetra Pak Pasteurizer PF is a new flexible, automated solution for sauces, dressings, pastes, dips, soups and other prepared food applications. Launched this month, the technology can be operated either as a standalone system or integrated with other Tetra Pak equipment on a processing line, and extends the company’s existing hot fill portfolio by switching readily between hot and ambient temperatures.
The Sweden-based company claimed that this multiple product capability offers food manufacturers “far greater opportunity to respond to shifts in market demand, moving from one recipe to another with just a push of a button”. This also improved the consistency in quality across products, it added.
Anders Yngwe Söderstjerna, manager of Tetra Pak’s centre of expertise for prepared food, said: “The user-friendly technology and level of automation incorporated within Tetra Pak Pasteurizer PF adds up to a compelling solution for a broad customer profile in the prepared food industry. A fair proportion of these are existing users of Tetra Pak equipment, for whom adopting this technology will provide opportunities to develop new revenue streams/
“Its competitively low cost of total ownership also positions it as the ideal point of entry system for companies that hitherto have been unable to access this market.”
