In its basic form, the Flex 1 is a stripped-down, continuous aseptic processing unit that provides solid, indirect UHT performance at lower capital cost.
The unit has been re-engineered to cut manufacturing costs and reduce steam consumption during operation. A tubular heat exchanger with ‘product-to-product’ heat regeneration improves efficiency. Compared to earlier models, it also has an increased capacity range of 5,000-18,000 litres an hour. Running time is eight hours (16 hours with options).
Applications include milk, flavoured milk, cream, recombined milk, drinking yogurt, soya milk, buffalo milk, juice (fibres up to 3mm), tea and coffee.
“Our new UHT processing unit fills a gap in the market and provides solid, indirect UHT performance for a lower investment,” said Alan Stack of Tetra Pak Processing. “An extended range of options gives great flexibility, backed by Tetra Pak’s world-class knowledge and technical support.”
