A new range of tamper-evident induction seal liners have been developed by US-based closure liner manufacturer Tri-Seal, a division of Tekni-Plex.
Designed to offer fillers in the food and beverage industry “protection and easy-opening functionality,” the new EdgePull range peels cleanly, eradicating any adhesive residue or strings that can contaminate the contents after opening.
Additionally, “the pull tab is designed with enhanced strength to resist delamination from the rest of the structure when removed by consumers,” the firm said. With applications across closure sizes between 28mm and 63mm, they “are ideal for a wide range of narrow- and wide-mouthed containers,” it added. EdgePull PPE has been developed for polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) containers, particularly in the dairy sector, while EdgePull Universal is suitable for packaging operations that use multiple bottle types.
Tri-Seal vice president and general manager David Andrulonis said: “Customers will benefit from the excellent product performance characteristics of EdgePull liners. The structural enhancements will make it easier for consumers to access a wide variety of beverage and food products.”
