“The Rainforest Foundation US is thrilled that Volvic will continue to support 10 essential projects in Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama and Peru to help indigenous peoples protect their rights and forests,” said Suzanne Pelletier, executive director of the Rainforest Foundation US. “Rainforests provide essential ecological benefits to everyone around the world, and there are no better stewards of these important forests than the indigenous peoples who live there.”
In 2010, the Volvic ‘Drink 1, Give 10’ initiative in North America raised enough funds to help 117,000 indigenous people in central and south America.
In 2011, Volvic will donate $0.05 to the Rainforest Foundation for each litre of 50cl, 1-litre and 1.5-litre bottles of Volvic sold in supermarkets in the US and Canada from 27 June until 25 December 2011. No portion of the purchase price is tax-deductible.
Also, for every person who ‘likes’ the Rainforest Foundation US on Facebook between 27 June and 25 December 2011, Volvic will donate $1 per new ‘like’ for the first 5,000 new ‘likes’.
“We recognise that we can make a difference in protecting rainforests and every bottle of Volvic can serve that purpose in addition to providing a unique mineral composition to our consumers,” said Olivier Sonnois, CEO of Brands Within Reach.
