It is expected to open its doors to customers in early 2013. The 25,000 sq ft store represents an expansion by Waitrose in Scotland, part of an UK-wide growth strategy by the employee-owned supermarket, which is part of the John Lewis Partnership.
Stirling will be the fifth Waitrose store in Scotland, complementing Newton Mearns (which opened in May 2011) and stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Around 180 new jobs will be created and everybody will become a Partner, as all employees in the John Lewis Partnership are known.
