During a recent visit to the Assembly, Rachel’s Organic arranged free samples for all, as well as giving politicians and staff the chance to meet company founder, Rachel Rowlands.
Elin Jones, minister for Rural Affairs & Agriculture, was also in attendance to launch a new Assembly scheme promoting local sourcing of food and drink in Wales.
“There are clear benefits from increasing the amount of local food and drink purchased in Wales,” said Jones. “Buying locally reduces the miles food travels, reducing carbon emissions. In Wales, we have a range of high-quality local produce, and Rachel’s Organic is a prime example of this. I’m delighted Rachel’s yogurts and desserts are now being stocked in all Assembly catering outlets – not only because it’s a Welsh company, but also because their products taste absolutely delicious!”
