Cream Supplies has launched a new range of five natural essential oils for use as a food ingredient in desserts, as it looks to exploit the pre-Easter peak in the chocolate market.
The oils are available in lemon, lime, orange, cinnamon and mint varieties and are packaged in 30ml glass bottles, which each amount to roughly 800 drops of natural oil when dispensed via a pipette. With a retail price of £5.95, they are vegan-, halal- and kosher-friendly, and offer chefs a simple way of introducing natural, complementary flavours into chocolate-based mixes.
Cream Supplies said: “Natural Essential Oils are pressed from a plant or fruit and then purified so that they impart a very clean and sharp flavour. They are 100% pure and undiluted so are intensely flavoured.
“Because the oils blend readily into a chocolate base, they are particularly good for flavouring melted chocolate (during tempering), desserts, ganache and sauces. They will also produce excellent results in ice cream, if used during preparation, and cream.”
