Professional golfer John Daly has partnered with Phusion Projects to release a line of drinks based on the cocktail bearing his name.
The range is available in half and half, and hard tea flavours, in ready-to-drink 16oz cans with an ABV of 8%. Called grip it and sip it, the line aims to match the freshness of the cocktail found in bars across the US with its real black tea and premium ingredients.
Phusion said alcoholic tea in a can is a relatively untapped category and it aims to appeal to consumers on and off the golf course.
Speaking of the launch, Daly said: “It was time to bring legitimacy to the John Daly cocktail. I wanted it to be an accurate representation of who I am.”
Last month Molson Coors and Hornell Brewing Co entered into an agreement to promote a new Arnold Palmer alcoholic iced tea, named after the legendary American golfer.
Chicago-based Phusion Projects is a beverage company that sells products including Four Loko, Moskato Life, Earthquake. The new line of hard teas is now available across the US.
