With over 170 top companies already signed up from across the globe, Packaging Innovations will attract top brand owners, managers, designers and creatives looking for the latest product developments in packaging.
Among the many new products at the shows, M&H Plastics (Stand A18) will showcase two new packaging concepts. Firstly, on show will be Toni & Guy’s fashion inspired packaging, featuring new technology with high-build varnish printed onto the text to give a high-gloss premium embossed effect that contrasts with the co-ex matt finish of the HDPE bottles.
Secondly, M&H Plastics will show its portfolio of 30ml PET tubulars, which are ideal for sample packs and hotel amenities ranges.
Vicki John, marketing manager at M&H Plastics, said: “M&H has exhibited at easyFairs NEC for a number of years, as we find it a well-run, cost-effective exhibition that reaches a wide range of target groups. M&H is one of the premier suppliers and manufacturers of plastic components specialising in high-quality bottles, jars, closures and flexible tubes. Traditionally, the company has focused on the personal care sector, but the majority of our products can be used across sectors such as healthcare, pet care, food & drink, DIY and household products. Packaging Innovations reaches all these audiences. We also find it a good venue to meet with many of our existing customers all in one place.”
Thistle Marketing Limited (Stand F53) will also be launching its new range of dispensing devices for the packaging market. The innovative and cost-effective foamers are part of the range that includes lotion dispensers and spray pumps. Murdoch A Crawford, managing director at Thistle Marketing Limited, said: “The Packaging Innovations exhibition is clearly an excellent vehicle to launch our new foamer range, as we will be able to show true innovation at cost-effective prices. We believe the 4-piece foamer will offer many new market opportunities to our clients who have previously found them cost-prohibitive.”
SK Direct (Stand K37) will introduce two new tamper-evident seals at Packaging Innovations. Product contamination and ultimately product recall due to product tampering can cost companies thousands, but security seals are not only important for the companies producing the product, but also to give the consumer evidence of any tampering.
Tamper-evident packaging tape SK76 is a security carton sealing tape to keep content safe in transit or storage. Also new is the clear tamper-evident retail packaging seals with UV void messages.
Sander Greving, sales director at SK Direct, said: “The retail packaging labels indicate any unauthorised entry, without interfering with the original packaging design. The void message left after removal is very clearly visible under UV-light. Labels are printable by hot-foil printing including sequential numbering and barcodes.”
Scatolificio Cristina (Stand D29), who specialise in luxury packaging and produce printed PET cartons for the confectionery, toiletries, fine fragrance and general gift markets, will showcase its new ‘Smartline’ crease technology.
This crease technology creates the same easy-to-handle crease as the traditional soft-crease, but is more efficient to produce and so comes at a reduced cost. Suitable for hand-erect and machine-erect cartons, it’s proven to increase packing speeds, therefore reducing packing costs.
From cartons to food trays, Southern Cross Packaging (Stand C13) will demonstrate OvenPack, a safe and functional hot meal delivery system designed specifically for a fantastic cooking and eating experience, whether the meal is served onto a plate or eaten out of the tray.
Simon Haarburger, co-owner and sales director at Southern Cross Packaging, said: “The OvenPack provides a unique solution that not only results in a simple cook and opening experience for the consumer, but also enables food processors to fill and seal without major capital investment. Furthermore, the Widely Recycled status means that the OvenPack can be rinsed and deposited in the waste paper recycling stream for a truly sustainable solution.”
Cosmetic Packaging Company Lumson (Stand B17) will demonstrate its revolutionary TAG-System, the first and only airless system in a glass bottle. Stefano Focolari, chief marketing officer at Lumson, said: “The TAG-System is a revolutionary cosmetic packaging product designed, patented and manufactured exclusively by Lumson. TAG, which stands for Techno Airless Glass, is the ultimate packaging innovation. A system that combines the beauty, the preciousness and the luxury of a glass bottle with the technical and functional advantages of an Airless Dispensing System.”
While exhibitors are the main attraction at Packaging Innovations, there’s a varied programme of content and entertainment, with 50 scheduled free-to-attend learnShops to choose from spanning across every aspect of packaging delivered by industry experts.
Also returning by popular demand is The Big Packaging Debate and Lion’s Lair, where six brave exhibitors will pitch their latest products live to a panel of brand, retail and packaging experts.
Packaging Innovations is co-located with four shows: Contract Pack, Ecopack, Packtech and the launch of the new Print Innovations show.
