UK beverage company Radnor Hills will release a new canned spring water range, after a £3.5 million investment in a canning line.
The firm said it recognises the benefits of the aluminium can, with its 100% recyclability, long shelf life and transport efficiency. Still and sparkling waters will be available in 330ml cans as of November.
Radnor Hills’ spring water is sourced from its farm in Powys, mid-Wales, where it takes seven minutes to filter from the ground into a can. The new canning line is capable of filling still, sparkling and infused products with a direct feed from boreholes.
The new can packaging is sourced from less than 65 miles away from Radnor Hills’ headquarters.
“Installing our first ever canning line has been an exciting new adventure for us as a business, and we are so pleased to be able to offer our customers yet another format for their spring water and other products,” said William Watkins, owner and managing director of Radnor Hills.
Radnor Hills’ portfolio of canned drinks also includes Radnor Fruits, which is a blend of 45% fruit juice and spring water.
The line has been redesigned in a 330ml can, taking inspiration from the craft beer market for its new “wacky and colourful look”, using coloured pull tabs to match specific flavours. Each 330ml can contains no added sugar, preservatives or artificial colours or flavours.
Earlier this year, Radnor Hills released Radnor Plus Energy, a line of natural energy drinks with zero sugar and five calories per bottle.
