Plant-based food company Tommy’s Superfoods has launched two new products, as it continues to innovate the frozen food aisle.
Asian Fusion contains seven vegetables, tamari and is seasoned with Asian 5-spice including black sesame seeds.
Its second product is a blend of cauliflower, purple sweet potatoes, green chickpeas and red bell pepper, seasoned with Tommy’s original BBQ spices.
The two new products will join Tommy’s veggie blends portfolio, that includes broccoli and green chickpea, root fusion and supergreens.
Each of Tommy’s veggie blends contain whole vegetables that are minimally processed and seasoned with all-natural seasoning blends and fresh herbs.
Similarly, its new products are certified vegan, non-GMO, low in sodium, while a good source of plant-protein.
According to the Texas-based company, its blend of spices and herbs are customised to enhance the taste and variety of veggies in each product.
“There are a lot of choices at the grocery store for consumers looking to eat healthier by following a plant-based diet,” says Doug Carlson, CEO of Tommy’s Superfoods.
Carlson added: “But not all plant-based foods are healthy choices, and some can even be considered ultra-processed foods. Tommy’s is committed to providing consumers with the pinnacle of health by using whole vegetables, that are flash-frozen to maintain maximum nutrients, freshness and seal in texture and flavour.”
Tommy’s Superfoods’ Asian Fusion, and Cauliflower and Purple Sweet Potatoes are packaged in recyclable bags and will be available in retailers nationwide.
