Mars Wrigley has expanded its M&M’s portfolio with its latest launch – the new Mocha Mudcake flavour.
Introduced into the Australian market, the new treats are designed to tap into the country’s love for coffee, with Mars reporting that 75% of Australians drink coffee daily.
The new snacks feature a mocha mudcake-flavoured fudgy centre, smothered in milk chocolate, and housed in M&M’S classic crisp shell. They were created to tap into the trend of permissible indulgence, combining coffee, chocolate and cake in one bitesize treat.
Ben Hill, Mars Wrigley’s marketing director, said: “We know Australians love coffee. our love and appreciation for coffee flavoured chocolate treats continues to grow year on year. Consumers are increasingly looking for innovation beyond just flavour, with texture becoming an increasing focal point to enhance the ‘eating experience’.”
He continued: “As a company, we’ve been investing into the growth and development of our ‘Bitesize’ portfolio over the last few years, focusing on consumer-led innovation, and we’re now at a really exciting stage as we’re starting to see the products land on shelves across the country”.
The new flavour variant was created at Mars Wrigley’s Ballarat Innovation Hub in Victoria, Australia, and comes off the back of the company’s AUD 28.8 million (approx. $19.3 million) investment into its Ballarat operations earlier this year.
M&M’s Mocha Mudcake is available to purchase in Australian retailers now for a limited time.
