There were also two more over $1,000m: Molson Coors’ $3,540m purchase of StarBev in Central Europe, and Anheuser-Busch InBev’s $1,240m to take control of Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana.
So the April picture was fewer in number but greater in value. Of the 32, eight were in alcohol, seven in soft drinks, five in hot drinks, five in food, four in packaging/equipment and three in ingredients, with zero in dairy.
20 involved the US: eight all-domestic affairs, six overseas expansions and six incoming deals. The UK was next with four, then Switzerland with three. A total of 21 countries were affected.
