Discussions had halted over a failure to reach agreement about the standards to be adopted. The BWCA and its members are fiercely proud of the codes of practice built up over 20 years and which represent the ‘gold standard’ for the industry.
The BWCA’s Executive Council (EC) recommended to the membership that a new proposal would be put to the EDWCA in due course. The proposal would protect the integrity of the industry, as well as protecting customers, BWCA members and the BWCA’s heritage.
This recommendation was accepted by an overwhelming majority of members present. With this mandate from the AGM, the EC will now reconsider the position of the BWCA.
