World Beers has strengthened its world beer portfolio after adding Lazy Mutt Farmhouse Ale, described as a ‘unique and quirky’ craft beer from the US. Brewed in the Midwest by the Minhas Craft brewery, Lazy Mutt is a bottle-conditioned, pale ale that offers notes of citrus on the palate followed by a sweet, malty finish with a hint of corn.
The 5% ABV ale was first brewed as a tribute to American and Canadian soldiers who died in World War I in Flanders. The beer style is a take on the traditional, refreshing ales brewed in Flanders for centuries and drunk by the farm hands and those who worked the fields.
The beer was awarded a Bronze medal in the World Beer Championships 2008 and is available in 330ml bottles in cases of 24.
“The US craft beer trend is showing no signs of letting up so we felt it was the right time to let another beauty off the lead,” said Peter Karsten of World Beers. “The reaction from outlets for our recently launched Huber Bock has been fantastic, but they are still asking for more of the unique and wonderful. To this end, we believe Lazy Mutt’s easy drinking credentials and tongue-in-cheek packaging will be a big hit with the trade and consumers.”
