Beverage manufacturer RG Brands has appointed former Britvic general manager Murray Harris as the head of a new project to increase the Kazakhstan-headquartered producer’s distribution and market reach.
Harris brings with him extensive experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, and will assist RG Brands in its plans to reach 70,000 stores across central Asia and 100m consumers with its portfolio of drinks and snacks.
Operating four manufacturing plants and employing 2,000 people, RG Brands currently sells more than 40m cases of beverages every year and generates revenues equivalent to approximately $268.75bn. It holds distribution rights over brands such as Lipton, Pepsi and 7Up.
RG Brands will also bolster its growth with the addition of former Britvic CEO Paul Moody as an advisor to the company’s board of directors.
Explaining its plans for sustainable growth in a statement, the company said: “Murray Harris, who was appointed as an independent director to the board of RG Brands in 2014, has recently accepted an assignment to plan and lead this project to increase the distribution and marketing reach to 70,000 stores and 100m consumers, thereby delivering against the company’s economic principle of sustainable profitable growth. Key to success of this strategy, an important component of the plan is to establish semi-independent business units well supported by a head office of functional experts who will design and deploy programs that will then be tailored to suit the business units’ demographic differences.”
