Tea cocktail brand Owl’s Brew has teamed up with The Famous Grouse to launch two new blends, designed specifically to be paired with the Scotch whisky maker’s products.
The first of the two exclusive flavours to be announced was The Famous Mint Tea, a cooling blend of peppermint tea with lemon. Two parts of The Famous Mint Tea blend and one part of The Famous Grouse makes “a simple Scotch cocktail,” Owl’s Brew said in a launch post on its Facebook page.
The second flavour is The Smoky Earl, a smoky blend of lapsang souchong and Earl Grey teas with a hint of honey that matches perfectly with The Black Grouse for a tea cocktail that can be enjoyed either hot or cold.
US-based Owl’s Brew produces a range of unique artisan teas specifically designed to be used in cocktails, as FoodBev first reported back in January. The company began after its founders became tired of conventional bar offerings and sought a beverage that was “lighter, fresher, funner” with a significantly lower level of sugar.
There were originally three flavours – The Classic, an English breakfast tea with citrus fruits; Coca Lada, a black tea with coconut pieces, chai spices, pineapple juice and agave; and Pink and Black, which combines a darjeeling tea with hibiscus, lemon peel, strawberry and agave – but Owl’s Brew has since added a fourth. White & Vine is a white tea with refreshing watermelon and tart pomegranate.
