Carton packaging manufacturer Qualvis Print & Packaging has created a Halloween-themed “goodie carton” to promote their brand during the holiday season.
The box, with crash lock design, incorporates the full range of print finishes that the company offer. Produced on silver metalised board, the front and reverse of the carton are printed with low migration inks and include inline matt and spot gloss finishes. The feature pumpkin graphics showcase debossing, 3D contoured embossing, off-line spot UV high build varnish and fragrance burst matt varnish with peppermint and ginger fragrances.
To complement the ghoulish design, a soft touch laminated sleeve band wraps around the carton, incorporating black gloss debossed foil blocking. The branded band gives details of all the finishing processes used in creating the design. Alongside delicious goodies inside, each carton contains a unique promotional code, printed on an insert card by Qualvis’ inkjet glueline coding machine. By using a dedicated email address, the code can be registered to enter a competition to win a seasonal prize.
Qualvis managing director Jason Short said: “Halloween is a popular time of year for special promotions, so we wanted a distinctive and interactive package that would allow us to show off the extent of our print and finishing capabilities. We had the carton design on show at Packaging Innovations London this year and it was very well received, so we will be sending them out just in time for trick-or-treating.”
